Recycling Myths and how to avoid their traps

Wishcycling”—the act of putting something in your recycling bin in the hope that someone, somewhere will figure out what to do with it along the way—actually impedes the recycling process.

This grant program presents communities with the opportunity to apply for grant funding to convert bin or bag based curbside recycling programs to carts or to implement new cart-based curbside recycling programs.

This document summarizes the activities and accomplishments of the workgroup participants in 2019 and lays out the path forward for continued action in 2020. It also provides a foundation on which additional actions can be identified and taken.

The Facts and Figures Report looks at generation, recycling, composting, combustion with energy recovery, and landfilling for a variety of materials and products.

EPA created the Waste Reduction Model (WARM) to help solid waste planners and organizations track and voluntarily report greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions, energy savings, and economic impacts from several different waste management practices.
